Why are tooltips, autocomplete or IntelliSense not visible to guests?
In some cases and with certain applications, it is possible that guests in a GatherPlace meeting will not be able to see the tooltips, autocomplete or IntelliSense pop-up windows. There are several possible causes for this situation, but typically it can be corrected by sharing the entire desktop instead of just the application. (See below for instructions on how to Share the Entire Desktop.) If this does not correct the situation, see the instructions below for Installing the Presenter Module or Using the Java Host Version.

Sharing the Entire Desktop
To share the entire desktop the host must be in a meeting and sharing the screen.
  1. Click the Presentation Settings button on the GP4 interface.

  2. Select the Desktop item in the Presentation Settings dialog (top of the list).

  3. Click the OK button to close the Presentation Settings dialog.

If sharing the entire desktop does not correct the issue, it may be necessary to install the Presenter Module in GP4. (See next set of instructions).

Installing the Presenter Module
The Presenter Module is available for Windows computers only that are running the 32 bit version of the operating system* and can be installed as follows:
  1. Select the Load Presenter Module menu item from the Tools menu in GP4.

  2. Once the Presenter Module is loaded, the Load Presenter Module menu item from the Tools menu will change to gray text that reads Presenter Module Loaded.

  3. Open the GP4 Preferences by selecting them from the Tools menu in GP4.

  4. Select the General tab on the Preferences dialog and make sure the Use GDI Capture option is NOT selected.

  5. Click Apply and then OK on the Preferences dialog to close it.
* The Presenter Module is only compatible with 32 bit Windows operating systems. For users of 64 bit operating systems, the only other option to make the Intellisense/autocomplete popup menus and application menus appear in the sessions is to host using the GatherPlace Java version of the Host software.(See next instructions below).

Using the Java Host Version
Hosting using Java is available to any GatherPlace host that has a Java enabled web browser running Java 1.3 or greater.
To test your web browser for Java, please visit our Java test page at: http://www.gatherplace.net/test
The latest version of Java can be downloaded for free from the Java/Sun website at: http://java.com/
