GatherPlace accounts can be upgraded or downgraded at any time.
There are no fees to upgrade or downgrade a GatherPlace account.
Depending on the action taken, upgrading or downgrading your GatherPlace account may affect the anniversary (billing) date on the account.
Downgrades
The billing anniversary date
will not change when downgrading a GatherPlace account as the GatherPlace downgrades are effective at the next billing anniversary date on the account. There are no refunds for the unused time and/or features in the billing cycle when downgrading an account. Therefore, the maximum guest count and features that were in effect at the time of the downgrade will remain in effect for the remainder of the billing cycle until the next anniversary date at which time the account will be billed at the new rate and the adjustment to the features and/or guest count will take effect.
For example, a Monthly, Basic, or Individual account with a maximum guest count of 100 guests is charged $49 on the billing anniversary date each month.
If the billing anniversary date is on the first of the month and the account is downgraded on the 15th of the month to a maximum guest count of 5 guests, the new billing rate of $29 per month will be charged on the next billing anniversary date (the first of the following month). At that time, the maximum number of guests allowed will decrease from 100 to 5.
Upgrades
When upgrading a GatherPlace account, the billing anniversary date on the account
will change to the date the upgrade was made and the upgraded features and/or guest count will be effective immediately. At the time of the upgrade, the account will be billed for the amount of the new features and/or guest count increase minus the prorated credit for the remaining unused time that was left in the original billing cycle.
For example, a Monthly, Basic, or Individual account with a maximum guest count of 5 guests is charged $29 on the billing anniversary date each month.
If the billing anniversary date is on the first of the month and the account is upgraded on the 15th of the month to a maximum guest count of 100 guests, the account would be charged the difference of the new rate ($49) minus the credit for the remaining unused time in the billing cycle ($14.50) so the charge would be $34.50. The new billing anniversary date would then become the 15th of each month and the account would then be billed $49 on the 15th of the following month. The increase in the maximum number of guests is effective immediately upon the upgrade.
